This research article presents a comprehensive geochemical study of the Touro copper deposit in the northwestern Iberian Peninsula. The authors characterize the deposit's mineralogy and geochemistry using various analytical techniques, including electron probe microanalysis and isotope analysis. Their findings support the classification of Touro as a mafic-siliciclastic volcanic massive sulfide (VMS) deposit formed in a back-arc basin setting during the Ordovician. The study also examines the deposit's complex geological history involving metamorphism and deformation. Finally, the authors propose exploration guides based on their geochemical findings.
