The Gawler Craton, a 3-billion-year-old geological formation in South Australia, is revealing its mineral potential through extensive surveys conducted by the Geological Survey of South Australia (GSSA). The GSSA has collected a wealth of data, including identifying elements in rock samples, conducting airborne electromagnetic surveys, and using gravity-tracking devices, to map the mineral resources in this ancient and mineral-rich region. The findings have been presented in a recent workshop, and the GSSA is now inviting the world's miners to explore the Gawler Craton's mineral potential, which could include gold, nickel, uranium, or rare earth elements. This news report highlights the significance of these geological discoveries and the opportunities they present for the mining industry in South Australia.
