La investigación de sitios específicos destaca ocurrencias mineralógicas únicas, como las listvenitas identificadas en el yacimiento de níquel-laterita Cerro Matoso y la remobilización de oro en múltiples etapas observada en la mina Las Ánimas. The structural history of the region is defined by an uplifted belt of metamorphic rocks where a major fault separates the Duarte and Maimón Formations, serving as the site for the emplacement of the Loma Caribe peridotite (ResearchGate, n.d.). Our investigation delves into the stratigraphy of the central Dominican Republic, detailing late magmatic emanations of epidote within volcanic rocks and the presence of Lower Cretaceous black limestones (ResearchGate, n.d.). We also contrast the deformation levels of the Cevicos Limestone against older Oligocene formations (Cooke, 1921) and utilize microfossil data from the Tireo Formation to constrain the timing of arc development (Pessagno & Bronnimann, n.d.). Furthermore, this technical overview covers the metallogenic evolution of the island, from world-class high-sulfidation epithermal gold-silver deposits at Pueblo Viejo to the PGE contents found within Ni-laterite deposits at Falcondo (Aiglsperger et al., 2014). By synthesizing data from the SYSMIN Project, we illustrate how transpressive deformation has created characteristic structures such as restraining bends and flower zones that define the island's unique tectonic collage (SYSMIN, n.d.). For junior and senior geologists alike, we demonstrate how to integrate modern tools such as portable X-ray fluorescence (PXRF) and ground penetrating radar (GPR) with aeromagnetic surveys to identify high magnetite content in young laterites, which is a unique characteristic of the Guatemalan ophiolitic belts (Valls, 2007; Valls, 2018). The video provides a detailed analysis of the Sechol Ni-Mg laterite deposit and the Santa Anita II project, utilizing 3D modeling and geochemical mapping to define inferred mineral resources (Valls, 2002; Cruz Martín, 2022). Furthermore, we discuss the shift toward sustainable hydrometallurgy, specifically the atmospheric chloride leaching technology which optimizes the recovery of nickel and cobalt from high-magnesium ores without the constraints of traditional HPAL methods (Harris et al., n.d.; Valls, 2002). Измеренные ресурсы для эксплуатируемой площади включают примерно 1,3 млн тонн материала с оценочной стоимостью, превышающей 3 млрд долларов США, исходя из текущих цен на золото. Помимо проекта Rionegro, источники включают обширный сборник материалов XII Международного конгресса геологов-разведчиков, который охватывает региональную геологию Анд.
