Explore the massive potential of Mexico’s unexploited mining boom as we dive deep into the geology of the Sierra Madre Occidental and the often-disregarded metallogenic potential of the Trans-Mexican Volcanic Belt. This video provides a comprehensive guide for junior and senior geologists to modern techniques of exploration, structural geology, and geochemistry required to unlock hidden silver and gold deposits within these diverse provinces (Camprubí, 2009; Fuentes et al., 2020). While Mexico has traditionally been a world leader in silver and fluorite production, recent studies suggest significant base and precious metal mineralization remains unmapped, especially in districts like Tatatila-Las Minas and the Jalisco Block (Fuentes et al., 2022; López-Loera et al., 2025). We analyze how advanced methodologies such as VOXI Magnetic Vector Inversion and electrical resistivity tomography can distinguish between mineralized zones and connect surface indicators to underground wealth (Batista Rodríguez & Pérez-Flores, 2021; López-Loera et al., 2025). Furthermore, this technical overview highlights the strategic importance of targeting alteration minerals like alunite using ASTER imagery to overcome the challenges of rugged topography in the northern Sierra Madre (Alqahtani, 2019). By understanding the spatial variations and geochemical vectors within epithermal and porphyry systems, the geological community can better target the next generation of world-class ore deposits (Alqahtani, 2019; Bridge, 2019).
