This video explains a method to estimate the position of the current erosional level with respect to the source of the mineralization you are detecting on surface using geochemistry.
The method works better for rock and soil sampling, but I use it also for stream sediments, taking into consideration the mechanical aspect of such anomalies (transported down stream).
I include here a modification of the method (taking into consideration the relief) and show not only how to determine, but also how to graphically represents these eroded areas using SURFER.
The erosional method can also be used to categorize your anomalies into more or less prospective.

The efficiency of a field geologist depends of his/her capacity of observation. The correct observation of a phenomenon contributes to its better understanding and allows a more rational and effective orientation of the investigation. That is why is so important to master the steps that guarantee a correct observation of any phenomenon. These steps are: (1) the perception of the object, (2) the primary observation (first impressions) and (3) the elaboration of a plan for the description of the phenomenon. Here we included the statistical pre elaboration of the data, and a model for the codification of the information during stream sediment sampling. Resumen
Si el estudio de los procesos geoqu铆micos en condiciones tropicales es a煤n joven en pa铆ses tropicales, menos todav铆a se conoce acerca de dichos procesos en las grutas y cavernas. El estudio de los procesos espelogeoqu铆micos es importante ya que muchas grutas representan zonas de debilidad tect贸nica y por ende son m谩s propensos a los procesos hidrotermales-metasom谩ticos. Adem谩s, por su morfolog铆a y posici贸n topogr谩fica, las espeluncas son en ocasiones depositarias de importantes acumulaciones de minerales 煤tiles, tal como la bauxita, el caol铆n, la fosforita, algunas piedras preciosas, el manganeso, y otros.
En ocasiones son los mismos procesos geoqu铆micos los que conllevan a la formaci贸n de importantes minerales en las grietas.
En este reporte se analizan estos procesos geoqu铆micos y se propone un plan de observaciones espelogeoqu铆micas factibles de ser desarrollados inclusos por aficionados sin preparaci贸n geol贸gica especial.

Steps of the process:
1. Open GeoMapApps/ Agree
2. Go to File/Preferences and adjust as necessary
3. Go to DataLayers/Bathymetry and Land Topography/Global models/NOAA Globe 1km
3.1. On the window "Loaded Grid" select the "Set contour interval and range", adjust as necessary and click OK
3.2. You can save the grid in ASCII; KMZ, png, etc.
4. Go to Overlays/Country borders/close table
5. Zoom in to your area of interest using the 4th icon from the left/adjust by panning (2nd icon from the left)
6. Go to Overlays/Distance scale
7. Go to Overlays/Uncheck the Global map insert (optional)
8. Go to Overlays/Lakes and Rivers/Select the appropriate one/Adjust colour and line width/Close the table.
9. Go to Overlays/Latitude and Longitude graticule (optional)
10. Click on load the GMRT grid (twelve icon from the left or second from the right)
11. Go to Portals and explore the existing databases for your area.
12. Go to DataLayers and introduce all the layers you want
12.1. If after loading a layer, the program jumps to a different area, click on the 6th icon from the left (undo the last zoom)
12.2. At any time you can save a KMZ, ASCII, etc. of your map or data.

The efficiency of a field geologist depends of his/her capacity of observation. The correct observation of a phenomenon contributes to its better understanding and allows a more rational and effective orientation of the investigation. That is why is so important to master the steps that guarantee a correct observation of any phenomenon. These steps are: (1) the perception of the object, (2) the primary observation (first impressions) and (3) the elaboration of a plan for the description of the phenomenon. Here we included the statistical pre elaboration of the data, and a model for the codification of the information during stream sediment sampling. We have such systems for all kind of geological and geochemical surveys. Contact us here if interested.

Resumen
Si el estudio de los procesos geoqu铆micos en condiciones tropicales es a煤n joven en pa铆ses tropicales, menos todav铆a se conoce acerca de dichos procesos en las grutas y cavernas. El estudio de los procesos espelogeoqu铆micos es importante ya que muchas grutas representan zonas de debilidad tect贸nica y por ende son m谩s propensos a los procesos hidrotermales-metasom谩ticos. Adem谩s, por su morfolog铆a y posici贸n topogr谩fica, las espeluncas son en ocasiones depositarias de importantes acumulaciones de minerales 煤tiles, tal como la bauxita, el caol铆n, la fosforita, algunas piedras preciosas, el manganeso, y otros.
En ocasiones son los mismos procesos geoqu铆micos los que conllevan a la formaci贸n de importantes minerales en las grietas.
En este reporte se analizan estos procesos geoqu铆micos y se propone un plan de observaciones espelogeoqu铆micas factibles de ser desarrollados inclusos por aficionados sin preparaci贸n geol贸gica especial.

The efficiency of a field geologist depends of his/her capacity of observation. The correct observation of a phenomenon contributes to its better understanding and allows a more rational and effective orientation of the investigation. That is why is so important to master the steps that guarantee a correct observation of any phenomenon. These steps are: (1) the perception of the object, (2) the primary observation (first impressions) and (3) the elaboration of a plan for the description of the phenomenon. Here we included the statistical pre elaboration of the data, and a model for the codification of the information during stream sediment sampling. We have such systems for all kind of geological and geochemical surveys. Contact us here if interested.

Resumen
Si el estudio de los procesos geoqu铆micos en condiciones tropicales es a煤n joven en pa铆ses tropicales, menos todav铆a se conoce acerca de dichos procesos en las grutas y cavernas. El estudio de los procesos espelogeoqu铆micos es importante ya que muchas grutas representan zonas de debilidad tect贸nica y por ende son m谩s propensos a los procesos hidrotermales-metasom谩ticos. Adem谩s, por su morfolog铆a y posici贸n topogr谩fica, las espeluncas son en ocasiones depositarias de importantes acumulaciones de minerales 煤tiles, tal como la bauxita, el caol铆n, la fosforita, algunas piedras preciosas, el manganeso, y otros.
En ocasiones son los mismos procesos geoqu铆micos los que conllevan a la formaci贸n de importantes minerales en las grietas.
En este reporte se analizan estos procesos geoqu铆micos y se propone un plan de observaciones espelogeoqu铆micas factibles de ser desarrollados inclusos por aficionados sin preparaci贸n geol贸gica especial.

This video explains a method to estimate the position of the current erosional level with respect to the source of the mineralization you are detecting on surface using geochemistry.
The method works better for rock and soil sampling, but I use it also for stream sediments, taking into consideration the mechanical aspect of such anomalies (transported down stream).
I include here a modification of the method (taking into consideration the relief) and show not only how to determine, but also how to graphically represents these eroded areas using SURFER.
The erosional method can also be used to categorize your anomalies into more or less prospective.

Steps of the process:
1. Open GeoMapApps/ Agree
2. Go to File/Preferences and adjust as necessary
3. Go to DataLayers/Bathymetry and Land Topography/Global models/NOAA Globe 1km
3.1. On the window "Loaded Grid" select the "Set contour interval and range", adjust as necessary and click OK
3.2. You can save the grid in ASCII; KMZ, png, etc.
4. Go to Overlays/Country borders/close table
5. Zoom in to your area of interest using the 4th icon from the left/adjust by panning (2nd icon from the left)
6. Go to Overlays/Distance scale
7. Go to Overlays/Uncheck the Global map insert (optional)
8. Go to Overlays/Lakes and Rivers/Select the appropriate one/Adjust colour and line width/Close the table.
9. Go to Overlays/Latitude and Longitude graticule (optional)
10. Click on load the GMRT grid (twelve icon from the left or second from the right)
11. Go to Portals and explore the existing databases for your area.
12. Go to DataLayers and introduce all the layers you want
12.1. If after loading a layer, the program jumps to a different area, click on the 6th icon from the left (undo the last zoom)
12.2. At any time you can save a KMZ, ASCII, etc. of your map or data.

Resumen
Si el estudio de los procesos geoqu铆micos en condiciones tropicales es a煤n joven en pa铆ses tropicales, menos todav铆a se conoce acerca de dichos procesos en las grutas y cavernas. El estudio de los procesos espelogeoqu铆micos es importante ya que muchas grutas representan zonas de debilidad tect贸nica y por ende son m谩s propensos a los procesos hidrotermales-metasom谩ticos. Adem谩s, por su morfolog铆a y posici贸n topogr谩fica, las espeluncas son en ocasiones depositarias de importantes acumulaciones de minerales 煤tiles, tal como la bauxita, el caol铆n, la fosforita, algunas piedras preciosas, el manganeso, y otros.
En ocasiones son los mismos procesos geoqu铆micos los que conllevan a la formaci贸n de importantes minerales en las grietas.
En este reporte se analizan estos procesos geoqu铆micos y se propone un plan de observaciones espelogeoqu铆micas factibles de ser desarrollados inclusos por aficionados sin preparaci贸n geol贸gica especial.

The efficiency of a field geologist depends of his/her capacity of observation. The correct observation of a phenomenon contributes to its better understanding and allows a more rational and effective orientation of the investigation. That is why is so important to master the steps that guarantee a correct observation of any phenomenon. These steps are: (1) the perception of the object, (2) the primary observation (first impressions) and (3) the elaboration of a plan for the description of the phenomenon. Here we included the statistical pre elaboration of the data, and a model for the codification of the information during stream sediment sampling. The efficiency of a field geologist depends of his/her capacity of observation. The correct observation of a phenomenon contributes to its better understanding and allows a more rational and effective orientation of the investigation. That is why is so important to master the steps that guarantee a correct observation of any phenomenon. These steps are: (1) the perception of the object, (2) the primary observation (first impressions) and (3) the elaboration of a plan for the description of the phenomenon. Here we included the statistical pre elaboration of the data, and a model for the codification of the information during stream sediment sampling. We have such systems for all kind of geological and geochemical surveys. Contact us here if interested.
